Taal, Batangas

 Batangas 2016

Last Holyweek,  we went to Taal,  Batangas and visited Minor Basilica of St Martin of Tours,  said to be Asia's biggest Catholic Church.  Good Friday has been our tradition to either visit 7 churches for Visita Iglesia or visit just one but one we haven't both been to.  This year, it was Batangas.

Sorry I can't even begin to share how we got there or how to go there. It's been a long journey for us, when for most it would have been 2 1/2 hours from Manila, ours had been more than 5. It was terrible but we kept on convincing ourselves, it was our little sacrifice and besides we alloted the whole day for this visit so we really had all the time to enjoy what was to come. Here's the little tour inside the church.

By the way, from the start of Ash Wednesday, what I vowed to give up was RICE.  It was no easy fete as I could not last a single day without it, so I know it'd better be the one.  Surprisingly  I learned that if I'm determined to give this little sacrifice a chance it would be a happy journey . I'm glad I made it though.
