Books I Recommend: Have a Little Faith

my favorite lines from this book...

man likes to run from God

honestly you exhaled when he finished, that's how good he was

the most inspirational man I knew only reached his potential by helping a child reach his

faith is about doing. you are how you act, not just how you believe

i asked you what you thought about your parents.. you said they weren't perfect, but they don't need improvement

when you come to the end, that's where God begins

it is far more comforting to think God listened and said no, than to think that nobody's out there

much of what we called 'depression' was really dissatisfaction,  a result of setting a bar impossibly high or expecting treasures that we weren't willing to work for.

his morning prayers began with "thank you Lord for returning my soul to me".  when you start that way,  the rest of the day is a bonus.

getting old, we can deal with. being old is the problem remember, the only difference between MARITAL and MARTIAL is where you put the 'i'

and since we don't know everything, we must accept that another person may believe something else

i wonder if i could be attached to something so detached

but you can touch everything and be connected to nothing

you knew me. you knew that person. but you don't know the person I'm trying to become.

Napoleon once dismissed religion as "what keeps the poor from murdering the rich"

nothing haunts like the things we don't say because when the world quiets to the sound of your own breathing, we all want the same things : comfort, love and a peaceful heart

the only whole heart is a broken heart

this is another story that's in my list of I-don't-want-to-end read. this is so inspiring, it taught me that no matter what religion we belong to will just cease to matter for life is truly more than all about that. the men here are the perfect inspiration to life. i cried a lot reading this book. i think, no human being will be left untouched by the lives shared here, I was touched to my very core. Mitch was one lucky guy to have known them. And I'm also one lucky reader to have been the recipient of such inspiration and love.
