14 Reasons Why I Love Uniqlo
I was reminded of the fb post I made two years ago about the first pair of pants I bought from Uniqlo. I was truthfully hesitant to buy it. Not because of the price but because I didn't like the concept: jeggings. So anyways, my whole issue about jeggings changed the moment I owned a pair so was my view of the brand itself.
I remember I was used to believing that buying branded stuff was an excuse to rewarding myself. A badge of hard work, never mind the quality itself. Actually my exact thoughts were, if it's pricey then it's superb quality. I learned later on that not all branded or imported stuff spells quality. Some are just fun and cool styles which aren't there to last. Some people go for a certain logo just because, a way to show off that they can buy expensive this and expensive that. But when you scrutinize the cut, the stitch, the material, theirs are not the label worth the star and attention.
So here are some things that made me go loyal to Uniqlo. Truth though, I still purchase from other brands. Sometimes I find myself comparing but this I know now, I can go to other brands for fancier stuff but when what I want is something I can still have until its wear and tear or something that can stand any season then Uniqlo will always be my go-to.
Some of these we've bought while on sale, others priced regularly. And although sometimes I'd find my purchases marked down after a couple of weeks, I still know they're worth every moolah.
1 seamless panties
other seamless undies are just wannabes, they will only be as good as the first time you wear them and the next time you know, the seams curl up and it will be seamless no more. I like these undies that I use them to any pants and shorts and not just on slacks or dresses where they're expected to deliver the most.
2 Jeggings
I never liked this jeans x leggings concept because I thought the material's naturally manipis and that your bums will take all the attention when you wear it, that was at least my impression when I saw a college schoolmate (who always) wore a pair and didn't look good on her, I promised myself I would never be the same fashion victim. This pair is totally different that I can't tell if it's really jeggings or your regular jeans. It has the same feel as your good 'ol black leggings, light and so comfy but it looks like your staple denim pants like a "denim fabric but with the elasticity of a leggings" I was deceived, the good kind. What's more is that even if it hugs down pat, I never have had to worry of adjusting it from inconvenient time to inconvenient time. It's comfort at its best.
3 Wireless Bra
There are other brands that offer the same level of comfort and fits perfectly as UQ but I believe theirs are a steal as they're priced lower than the popular ones, they have happy colors pa so I always have a choice. They say every brand and style fits a little bit different because we all have different shapes so investing in a good piece is a safer bet.
4 Body Shaper sleeveless top
I honestly had a hard time putting this over my head that I thought I'm one size larger, but when I finally put this on, I was left wondering how can this shaper hugs so right it feels like I'm wearing nothing that it's not constricting. Surprisingly though it's makapal that I can wear it on its own.
5 Cropped Jeans
Same goes with jeggings, when I found the right pair of jeans, I never looked back into other brands anymore.
6 Men's Shorts
I'm the one who gets to choose his pair of shorts and I like that they have different cuts and styles. I like their chino, cargo shorts and the plaid ones too plus the colors available are fun ones while they still have the earth colors or muted ones.
7 Lounge /Drape Pants
Comfy pants that's surely versatile. I've used them during summertime when it's unbearable to wear a pair of jeans. Also for staycations, this pair serves as my loungewear.
8 Socks
I especially love the low cut socks while hubby uses ankle socks to work. The colors and designs are simple that we can use them for everyday or for those shoes that require socks to be discreet they have options pile low or slub low. A crew once showed me a pair that has kind of stopper para daw hindi madulas. They have stylish choices for dress socks too. I just hope they will have more designs available, you know like the weirdo ones or funny ones because we get those from other sources. Imagine how cute are the bacon and eggs socks, or Paris socks or reindeer socks or burger and cupcake socks and couple socks.
9 Men's packaged dry color v-neck
Hubbby uses them as undershirts to his long sleeves polo and they are especially effective during summer as he never ends up all soaked in sweat which is a saving grace from the sweltering sun.
10 Jackets
now that summer's over, it's time to bring out sweaters or jackets. I used to not care when it's cold outside or inside the office so long as I have my knitted pink sweater. UQ gets me excited wearing jackets as they make it all fun with all their available styles. I especially like dry stretch sweat hoodie for him while I personally like AIRism mesh full zip as you can wear it during the rain and even when the sun's out because it's light, it's comfy and it's shapely. I also wish to buy their crew neck cardigan and the light crew neck. their light pocketable parka is also a dream but you know I can only have one at a time so I hope one day we'd all be together :-)
11 Broadcloth long sleeves
if there's one design that I personally like for men's office clothes, it would have to be this. He didn't like it at first as he is more drawn to plain ones but when he tried one on and saw how it's cut made him comfortable we bought a few and we ended up both happy.
12 Boxer shorts
you know it's not worth it if you buy the cheap ones in department stores as they're meant for everyday use. I learned it when I realized we were buying it all the time because they always get frayed or the stitches get ripped. was that the reason why UQs back side of their boxer shorts designed that way? I used to make fun of him when I saw that it looked like a skirt from behind but maybe that's what sets it apart from others. #durable
13 TShirts/ Pique Polo Shirts
right now my fave is the short sleeve boxy tshirt that I have to remind myself (sometimes hubby) to not wear every week which im inclined to do. we just couldn't avoid disney project shirts too as they're adult-y cute. he loved starwars shirts so much that I think if I gifted him one that he already saw in UQ rack before, he'd still be as delighted.
14 Rayon Long sleeve blouse
this is versatile that I think this must include in every girl's must-have. it can be a formal wear but can be dressed down when paired with shorts and tennis shoes or just flipflops.
