Books I Recommend: The Book of Tomorrow

My favorite lines from the book

When people are lonely they cling to anything not to feel that way any more.

There’s no proper way to grieve, no wrong or right way. I don’t know if I agree with that.

No matter how clever and rewarding parents think they are, children are one step ahead.

What if we knew what tomorrow would bring? Would we fix it? Could we?

I used to think that it was better to have too much than too little, but now I think if the too much was never supposed to be yours, you should just take what is yours and give the rest back.

It’s only when you come outside and realise life is moving on, that you just have to go with the flow.

Scientific people think they’re looking outwards but they’re not. They think that emotional people only look inwards but they don’t. I think the best scientists are the ones that look both ways.

“Our minds do unusual things sometimes, Tamara. When we’re looking for things it takes it upon itself to go down its own route. All we can do is follow.”

Nothing is ever nothing. It’s always something.

You shouldn’t try to stop everything from happening.

Sometimes you’re supposed to feel awkward. Sometimes you’re supposed to be vulnerable in front of people. Sometimes it’s necessary because  it’s all part of you getting to the next part of yourself, the next day.

With so many people needing one person, maybe it was more that she needed them to need her.

Sometimes a lot can come of being all washed up. You can really grow.
