Books I Recommend: The Silkworm

This is my favorite non-Harry Potter book of J.K. Rowling aka Robert Galbraith. I admit I found The Cuckoo's Calling just okay but Silkworm? It got way better. Like how many times have my guesses were nowhere near the real story? All the clues were there but my detective DNA's a fail. It's always an appealing story if you're left wondering how it will end, all the more if it will pull a big surprise you never knew coming. Even after the story ends, I still wanted hubby and me to discuss the book. I even thought of re-reading it all over again. I’m hooked. So Robert? (ikr) this is a mighty good book and I loved it!

Here are my favorite lines from the book...(There were more which I forgot to highlight because I was serious and in full attention haha.... )

Many lonely people, Strike new, found it pleasant to be the focus of somebody's undivided attention.

It was very difficult to gauge the level of your own celebrity.

Women, in his experience, often expected you to understand that it was a measure of how much they loved you that they tried their damnedest to change you.

The unexamined life isn't worth living.

When women turn, they really turn.

Motive's a bitch, Robin. Nine times out of ten you only find out why, when you've found out who.

But Matthew was the axis of her life, the fixed centre.

Ineptitude is no defence under the law.

Art is supposed to provoke.
