#foodporn when we
went to Cebu
ZUBUCHON
we first had breakfast here where we enjoyed danggit, zubuchon flakes and sisig meal. it was the right breakfast as it was loaded and we loved the crunchy danggit. the sisig meal was also good though we have hoped it was served to the side, it instead was mixed with the rice. zubuchon flakes was also yummy, served with 2 pcs of eggs like my danggit plate. we left the place satisfied and it was the best way to jumpstart our day (as it would be the only meal we would have until 6 or 7pm.)

before leaving Cebu at their branch in Mactan airport, we tried their lechon too. it wasn't what I expected it would be as I'm aware Mr. Bourdain tagged it as the best. it wasn't a disappointment either but i realize i prefer CNT better.

TORTA
i read from one post that this delicacy is a must try in Argao. i saw them being peddled outside the church so I thought to give it a try. i initially thought it'd be as soft as mamon but it deceived me. it was as delish but it also was surprisingly filling. one piece can be easily shared by two.

CNT LECHON
we were supposed to try 3 lechon brands here but due to time constraints we only ended up trying just 2. CNT we think is the best among the two. we hardly needed another ulam, (although we had one more) as it was all we only wanted and consumed. the skin's crispy and the meat's tender. it was perfect for me as it wasn't really maalat. (truth is i want my lechon to be maalat but not the kind where you can't eat it anymore or you think you're eating salt disguised as lechon haha). their suka is divine. I'm not really sure if it's offensive to say we needed suka with the lechon because for me it's better to always have to wash down the cholesterol it's been laden with. and what's with Cebu's suka (vinegar)? as they're the best i have ever tried by far. price wise, it was sulit it was sooo worth it.

SUNBURST Chicken
their fried chicken would have probably been a good experience if they had served it thoroughly cooked. i understand that lunch time's a busy time but the chicken's the main reason why most hungry wanderers came here for. it would be poor in service if it's just fried and there's still something to complain about. their sinigang na hipon is good though for atleast they didn't use sinigang mix. we were kind of disappointed with the slow service too.

LARSIAN
you should never leave Cebu without going to Larsian sa Fuente. this place is like a one stop of many small carinderias combined. i can't tell what stall is better to serve you your fill of barbecues, squid, skewered chorizo de cebu, grilled fish or liempo or street foods or scallops or soupy dishes as we just went with the first group who stalked us haha. most offered the same things anyways so i think walang nakakalamang. the only difference i think is if you want to watch tv while enjoying your chows. they're located at the far end so you might want to see them first before caving in to those who bombard you the most. haha. you choose what you want to eat, you can even haggle i think and tell them how you want it done or cooked. they then tell you where to sit and wait while they prep your orders. it was raining when we got there pero it was still getting packed. you can eat using your bare hands which most people enjoy as they provide plastic gloves for each of you. sulit experience as we paid a little more than 500 pesos and we were 4 in the group. this was one of our fave experience here in Cebu.

AMIDALA CAFE
this was a happy kind of accident. one time i was looking for a new cafe to try and i saw one blog post talking about their Starwars theme. hubby being a fanatic, i researched about it and found out it's located in Cebu. we weren't thinking of going to Cebu yet but when a few months after, when we were sure about the trip, I didn't forget about Amidala. it was not easy to locate it though, their instagram account was not a help either as they weren't replying, so we took Uber from Larsian to get to Amidala Cafe and we only paid 68 pesos. we ordered three of their bestsellers: force choke milkshake, darth malt freakshake and mrs. deathstar freakshake. all three didn't disappoint. surprisingly they weren't as matamis or nakakaumay as their look would've suggested, only loaded. just take a look at that mason jar and alam mong super busy sya haha. the combination's perfect like i love that there's pretzel to balance the taste. the chocolate sauce doesn't overpower the others or that one drink is enough to #foodcoma you with an addition of donut or brownies and cupcakes. all that plus they're instagrammable pa. (hello millenials! ) the place is just kind of small like less than 5 tables inside ata but they can still improve. their staff are courteous and friendly. and despite being rainy and on a weeknight at that, punuan sila. one thought though, walang CR. to quote my ever dependable sister, tiis-pantog lang talaga. haha
