St. Agatha Resort

Since summer is the time to have some or more, fun in the sun with family and friends, going out of town to swim has always been the best way out to beat the beastly heat. But not everyone is comfortable with going to hotel resorts as far as a 3 or 4 hour ride. The next best thing is to go to places not very far off Manila. Bulacan is one and I was just impressed with St. Agatha Resort where my family had just enjoyed our stay and summer outing that I'd like to recommend it here. St. Agatha is located in Guiguinto, Bulacan. Their flyers said that they were awarded 2011 Top Brand Awards as Most Outstanding Resort and Tourist destination, the tourist-destination part I don't contest as I've seen group of foreigners when we were there. We stayed overnight in one of their suite room (not facing the resort view) at P4,800. The room was spacious which was about perfect for we have a toddler with us who just loves to run around. Check in time is 2pm but when we got there earlier at around 1pm, they accommodated us right away once the room has been confirmed to be tidied up. Check out time, just like all other resorts is 12noon.

We were 6 adults and 2 kids so we rented out 2 extra mattresses which were P300 per. The room has jacuzzi, a terrace which we didn't get to enjoy because it was so hot outside with the aircon motor there but was of aid to us when we needed to hang our swim wears and towels to dry, a small ref inconspicuously hidden in a cabinet, a 40-inch tv set, a rocking chair, rattan made sala set, 6-seater round dining table, a comfy bed, a kettle for boiling water, 2 aircons, a working table and a cabinet. More than all that, I really liked it spacious and clean, you want to swim outside but you also want to enjoy your stay inside since the tv is so big (who doesn't want it big) and the room is very cool you'll forget it's more than 36 degrees outside.

The resort has a jacuzzi and 3 pools: wave pool, lap pool (3-5ft) and kiddie pool (2ft). Roaming around we saw open cottages like Summer Cottages which was like a big kubo, the upper part is for sleeping and the silong-like serves as an open kitchen (Big cottage, 10people max for P3,800; Small cottage, 5people max for P2,800); Umbrella (P500 for 4-6people) and Nipa (P800 for 10-12 people). They have a zipline ride for P150, it was a short ride hence the price but I think that's okay for first timers, otherwise for me sayang ang P150 hehehe. There's a corkage fee for hard drinks, softdrinks (P25 per 1.5bottle), beers and wines. For food, Bistro Ambrosio their resto is either a phone call or few steps away. There's no corkage fee for food because we brought in dishes like beef and broccoli, fish fillet and macaroni. I think for as long as it's cooked it's allowed inside the hotel. Actually I didn't get to clear about bringing in the food part but they even saw a box of a dozen donuts and a round cake with us and I never heard them reprimand us so I think it's allowed.

Summed up, I consider it memorable because being with family is important now that we don't get to see each other more often. When there's an activity we all get to enjoy and accommodation that's convenient and comfortable for each one of us, in my book it will always top the list. I'm now beginning to like summertime.
