food blog: Banapple

Their Ayala Triangle branch is always full to the brim whenever we try to dine in. When it's the case we always end up having take-outs and get to still enjoy our food choices. So we map out plans as to when and what time to eat here so we can actually savor what we have to, like taking our chews slowly while girl bonding and keeping up with each other's stories. Day: Monday, Time: 2:00pm. That's the plan.

Homemade iced tea, P65
the perfect pair for any meal, sweet yet tangy and served in a bigger glass so it will definitely cap off full meal.

table setting

Garlic beef tapa with creamed parsely eggs, P185
tapa is served bite-sized and tender to the bite and they are generous with their creamy eggs. my sister said that it's just laden with a lot of butter but i say it's actually better that way.

Breaded fillet of cream dory with honey thyme mustard sauce, P200
the ever versatile cream dory is crunchy outside but creamy when you bite into it,i like it with or without their sauce. their mustard sauce though is a happy addition.

Porkloin with herb mushroom gravy, P195
among our orders, this came in last which was maybe because it's the longest to prepare, despite the wait the meat wasn't tender enough, sad. i could've waited a little longer if they just informed me. the dish wasn't bad at all though.

Take-outs:

Strawberry cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies, P75
both are TDF desserts, the moment you take a bite you'll know they didn't scrimp on their cheesecakes and they went all the way with chocolates for the choco chip cookie. make sure to share though. definitely worth the calories if you decide to devour by yourself. heaven on earth, baby.

Chicken salad sandwich
the sandwich you'd want to copy the recipe and try at home, truly yummy.

Bangus belly a la pobre
bangus belly is marinated perfectly and the flesh is creamy. we've been used to soy-honey combo as glaze and this dish is not a disappointment. all meals served with rice are in generous servings which is just perfect for i-cant-live-without-rice me.

If you're in a tight budget, say a meal that's just under P300 (drinks included), Banapple must be the first choice. All the rice meals are served generously even the drinks (which is iced tea). The dishes will hardly disappoint you, personally I like all I've tried except the meat that wasn't prepared well but the taste wasn't compromised naman. You will go home with a full and happy tummy for sure.
