Last September we celebrated my mother's birthday here. She wanted kare-kare so we thought of Pinoy restaurants that never misses kare-kare in their menus. Cabalen was an early favorite because we're technically Kapampangan (her mother, my grandmother is from Guagua) add to that, it's a buffet feast and for only P298 per head.
My favorites were crispy lechon, of course kare-kare, lechon paksiw, crispy kangkong and tibok mais. I wasn't able to try everything but those I did, I've enjoyed. This trip is so worth it most especially if you fancy Pinoy comfort food.
